Celplast Announces Next-Generation Inline Top-coating Metallizer with Metacoat® Technology
Celplast is installing the world's first commercial 2.45 m metallizer with inline flexo coating and E-beam curing using patented Metacoat technology, producing high-barrier films such as DURAMET.
Celplast Metallized Products Ltd. is installing a new metallizer equipped with Metacoat inline top-coating technology designed to produce protected high-barrier materials for the flexible packaging and converting industry. Pilot testing of Metacoated metallized films has demonstrated barrier performance approximately 10 times superior to conventional metallized films, suitable for layer elimination, foil replacement, and demanding barrier applications.
These innovative materials—with DURAMET® as the inaugural product—enable converters to reduce film layers, streamline manufacturing processes, simplify raw material sourcing, and significantly lower product carbon footprint. The 8-foot (2.45 m) metallizer represents the first commercial machine worldwide featuring inline flexo coating with E-beam curing, utilizing patented Metacoat technology licensed from Metallized Surface Technology.
